Trust and safety
The main problem with renting isn't finding a place — it's whether you can trust this person. Everything below is built around that.
A review can't be bought
A review is tied to a specific completed booking: one from each side, and only if the stay actually happened. There's no way to write a review "just because" — no path exists that would get it into the database.
Both sides' reviews are published at the same time. Neither party can read the other's first and adjust their own, and neither can stay silent hoping the other will too: once the deadline passes, a lone review publishes on its own.
A review shows the length of the stay, but never the exact dates. Publishing while a flat stood empty would create a safety problem.
Verification tiers
- Basic
Confirmed email address or phone number.
- Verified
Additional confirmations reviewed by staff.
- Verified identity
Requires a document — document submission is currently switched off pending a legal decision, and this tier isn't granted.
A person makes the verification decision, it's logged with a reason, and the applicant is told the result. Your verification status.
The trust rating is explainable
The profile page shows not just a number but what it's made of: how many completed stays, which confirmations exist, what the reviews say. An opaque automatic rating of a person is both a product mistake and a risk.
Conversations stay on the platform
Before a booking is confirmed, messages stay inside Kvaterka, and attempts to take the conversation elsewhere are hidden — with an explanation to the sender of what was hidden and why. This isn't about retention: outside the platform there's no record of what was agreed and no way to resolve a dispute.
If something goes wrong
A dispute can be opened from the booking card. A staff member reviews it using the message history and the check-in/check-out marks. The decision can't be rewritten after the fact — the action log is immutable even for administrators.
What we don't promise
Moderator review of a listing is a review of the listing. We don't inspect flats, don't verify ownership, and don't guarantee that a place matches its photos. See the place in person before handing over any money.
